Prismac: A Match-3 Game
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
DISCLAMER: Parts of this game were written with AI assistance (Claude Code and ChatGPT Codex). Art and Music are free-use assets from their respective creators, credited in-game.
Prismac is a match-3 game I built in Python and Pygame.
Game modes
Endless — No clock, no pressure. Fill the level bar to advance; the target climbs each time.
Timed — Pick 1:00, 1:30, 2:00 or 2:30 and score as much as you can. Optionally, some gems carry a +3s badge that puts time back on the clock — or turn those off if you want the clock to only ever run down.
Shapes — The board is carved into a silhouette instead of a full grid. A new shape every level, and if you run out of legal moves the run ends there.
Extras — Choose your own modifiers and stack as many as you like:
- Zen — No score, no clock, no levels. Just the board.
- Mono — Every gem drained to greyscale. You're matching by shades of grey.
- Explosives — Charged gems drop in on their own, no match required, with the occasional rainbow.
- Color Lock — Only one color scores, and it changes every ten seconds. The panel shows which one and how long you've got.
- Chaos — Rocks and bombs join the board. Rocks can't be matched and sit there blocking you until an explosion clears them. Bombs can't be matched either, and carry a fuse that ticks down one step with every move you make — let it hit zero and it detonates on its own.
Note: The MacOS version has a background bug where the background screen is black. A permanent fix will take a while as I am not that focused on this project anymore.
